“Success doesn’t happen overnight. I like to appreciate the process and journey of the challenge of becoming great at something.”
I caught up with good friend Caroline Chan to celebrate her new principal role as Ting Li in (Re) Assignment starring Fast and Furious star Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver. She told me that it all happened so quickly and the next thing she knew, she was on set with a star-studded lineup.
"Working with Michelle was awesome. She was amazing, and so down to earth that it didn't even feel like it was really Michelle Rodriguez.," says Caroline.

One of Caroline's most memorable moments on set was when Rodriguez complimented her on her acting 'woah she's good!' following a scene they were working on together. It's not every day when you are complimented by one of Hollywood's finest!
Having previously worked on Broken Trail, (Re) Assignment would be Caroline's second film with director Walter Hill, best known for Aliens. When she found out about the role, she practiced hard to prove herself at the auditions as no part is given, everything is earned.
I asked Caroline how she approaches auditions. The Cole's notes: give it your all, practice, be confident, and to believe that everyone in the audition room is wanting you to do well. "Remember that you received a call back for a reason. They had already filtered through hundreds of other actors - everyone in that room wants to see you do well and it's a big thing to just be called back for an audition."
We also talked about talent and how to get good at something. Caroline's philosophy is that "Success doesn't happen overnight. I like to appreciate the process and journey of the challenge of becoming great at something."
Caroline juggles both acting, represented by Kirk Talent Agency and promotions as an Account Executive at KaiZen Creative Group, coordinating awesome events in and around town.
Vancouver, watch out for this rising star!
